Manage location tracking
Overview
Location tracking is used to monitor work travel progress, provide proximity alerts, and enhance predictive features such as work optimization and auto-completion. A mobile user can enable or disable location tracking at any time via their mobile device settings.
Important
Location data is sensitive, and Skedulo stores it securely. Your location information is not shared outside of the Skedulo application. It is only tracked when you are currently using the mobile application or it is running in the background, provided you have granted location permissions. We recommend that you set location access permission to Allow all the time (or Always) to allow all functions in the Skedulo mobile app to work as expected.
When your permission is set to Don’t allow (or Never) the following Skedulo features will be unavailable:
-
Current location: Your current location is set as your home address (as defined in your user profile) on the Skedulo web app. There may be a time lag in updating a resource’s location when you log out of the Skedulo mobile app.
-
Live tracking, including the resource’s Actual route.
-
Proximity notifications.
-
Geolocation of job allocation status changes.
Enable location tracking permissions
After logging into the Skedulo Plus app, if your permission is not set to Allow all the time (or Always), a location tracking indicator will appear on the Agenda screen map, prompting you to enable it.

Tap the highlighted timestamp to open the Skedulo app or any other app that is tracking location. When the app is open, the icon in the top left corner indicates that location tracking is active.
Note
It may behave slightly differently on iOS 10 or older.Android device location tracking notification
Android devices indicate location tracking via a notification on the lock screen and via a small app icon at the top of the device.
Android devices also inform users (via a pull-down panel) what level of tracking is active and the reason why it is enabled.
You can pause the tracking by tapping the Pause tracking text link in the pull-down notification.
